DIABETES UK. DONCASTER VOLUNTARY GROUP.
Doncaster Diabetic Society, the local support group for people with Diabetes. Formed in 1976 as a branch of the British Diabetic Association, we are a fully fledged support, fund-raising and campaigning group, made up of people with Diabetes, their families and friends. We are here to help, support, advise and promote all aspects of "living with Diabetes". We work closely with the Healthcare Professionals who care for people with Diabetes in this area. The British Diabetic Association became Diabetes UK in June 2000. Due to changes in the Charter for Diabetes UK Voluntary Groups 2007,  we were required to change our group name to Diabetes UK Doncaster Voluntary Group. This change came into effect in July 2007.  The local group meet on the first Tuesday of each month (except August) at 7.30pm in the Diabetes and Endocrine Centre at Doncaster Royal Infirmary.

Tuesday  May 1st 2012 at 7.30pm in the Diabetes and Endocrine Centre at D.R.I.  Monthly meeting, usual information and discussion group. Raffle and refreshments. All welcome.

 
Tuesday 12th June 2012 at 7.30pm in the Diabetes and Endocrine Centre at D.R.I.

Please note the change of meeting day from the first Tuesday in the month to the second Tuesday in the month.  This is because of the Queens Diamond Jubilee Celebrations which take place on the usual meeting day.

 

 The speaker for this meeting will be a representative from the Regional Office in Darlington. Please be aware of a possible date change due to the Queens Jubilee celebrations, keep watching for date confirmation. We are to have a small bun-fight of our own to mark the occasion. The Diabetes UK Roadshow bus will be in town for two days in August 2012, the dates are Thursday the 23rd and Friday the 24th.  Will publish the venue when it has been confirmed, but the last time the Roadshow was here the Bus was positioned at the "Clock corner".

 

 

 May we request some help from our friends and supporters out there? could you please donate items for our Raffles and Tombolas, we would be very grateful.  Ideally, if they could be brought to our meetings at D.R.I. this would be extremely helpful, or perhaps you could ring us to arrange collection.
